The ESREL SRA-E 2025 conference is currently underway in Stavanger, Norway, bringing together over 900 participants and featuring more than 700 presentations across 14 parallel sessions. This prominent annual event, co-organised by the European Safety and Reliability Association (ESREL) and the Society for Risk Analysis Europe (SRA-E), serves as a key platform for advancing knowledge in the fields of risk, reliability, and safety.
This year’s conference theme — “Advancing risk, safety and reliability sciences, with applications – from component, to system, to society” — highlights the need for deeper expertise within individual disciplines while encouraging broader, interdisciplinary collaboration across research and practice.
On 17 June, Kristin Kerem from the TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy will present research developed within the BALTIC-FIT project, co-authored by Deniece M. Aiken, Kristine Carjova, Prof. Ulla Tapaninen, and Teemu Manderbacka. The paper explores the potential of risk-based legislation to support the integration of emerging maritime technologies, with a particular focus on unmanned vessels in the Gulf of Finland.
