On 22 May 2025, during the BALTIC-FIT Summer School 2025, Anna Zmiievska, a EU-funding expert from Anromind, delivered a training workshop for the Summer School audience — including PhD candidates and young researchers, administrative staff from different TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy research groups, as well as researchers from VTT and the RISE Research Institutes of Sweden.
The workshop was structured into three modules:
Module 1 – Dissemination, Communication, and Exploitation
Covered the distinctions between dissemination, communication, and exploitation; Horizon Europe policy background and mandatory elements; and the benefits of these activities, including increased visibility, enhanced networking opportunities, and improved chances of securing future funding. The module also featured real case studies from successful Horizon Europe projects.
Module 2 – Researcher Profile and Social Media
Focused on the benefits of digital visibility; creating and maintaining an ORCID profile for persistent researcher identification and publication linking; using professional networks such as LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and Bluesky for visibility and peer engagement; examples of effective profiles and common mistakes; and strategies for optimising profiles to make a digital presence discoverable and impactful.
Module 3 – Open Science Policy
Introduced the principles of Open Science and FAIR data management.
The workshop aimed to strengthen participants’ skills in scientific dissemination, communication, and exploitation, in line with the requirements of Horizon Europe. Through case studies and real-life examples, attendees learned how to plan, monitor, and evaluate outreach activities to maximise project impact.
