On 19 November 2025, the second workshop on EU research management and administration by VTT was held at the TalTech Estonian Maritime Academy, as part of the capacity-building programme implemented under the BALTIC-FIT project.
The first workshop took place in May 2025 during the BALTIC-FIT Summer School. This follow-up session, led by Kaisa Vehmas and Camilla Halinoja, Senior EU Project Specialists from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland, which has extensive experience in managing Horizon Europe projects, focused specifically on strengthening the skills of TalTech’s internal research and administrative teams.
The session enabled participants to reflect on their current practices and discover new approaches used by experienced EU project teams like VTT.
The event brought together 19 participants from across TalTech’s research and project support staff, offering practical guidance on:
VTT’s internal workflows and templates for effective EU project implementation;
Post-award support strategies, including budgeting, reporting, data handling, and deliverables;
Community practices, such as Coordinators’ Forums for knowledge sharing and internal mentoring.
Thanks all participants and guest speakers – and special appreciation to Kristel Rauk and Maarja Parve for organising and facilitating this important workshop as part of BALTIC-FIT’s efforts to strengthen institutional research capacity and support collaboration across teams.
