BALTIC-FIT at the Heart of Maritime Dialogue in Turku

On 25 November 2025, Prof. Ulla Tapaninen, coordinator of the BALTIC-FIT project, took part in the S4M Seminar in Turku, Finland.

The event brought together maritime professionals, researchers, and policymakers to explore how shipbuilding, sustainability, and smart material management are evolving in the face of digital and green transitions.

Prof. Ulla Tapaninen delivered a session titled “Practical Decarbonisation Actions in Shipping”, sharing insights from BALTIC-FIT and highlighting the role of skilled professionals, innovation ecosystems, and international collaboration in shaping more sustainable maritime logistics. The session concluded with a lively Q&A.

The seminar was organised by S4M – Smart Shipbuilding and Sustainable Lifecycle Management, a Finnish competence centre promoting circular economy and digital tools in shipbuilding.
