On 24 April 2025, members of the Maritime Transport Research Group — Ulla Tapaninen, Andres Laasma, Tõnis Hunt, Kristin Kerem, Kadi Kasepõld, Seçil Gülmez, Deniece M. Aiken, and Kristine Carjova — had the opportunity to meet with Professor Michael Ekow Manuel from the World Maritime University (WMU) at the Estonian Maritime Academy.
During the meeting, the BALTIC-FIT project was presented to Professor Manuel, and potential topics for future cooperation were actively discussed.
The discussion also addressed broader maritime leadership challenges, initiatives led by IMO and UNCTAD, and opportunities for closer collaboration between academia and international maritime organisations.
The exchange of ideas provided valuable insights and opened new avenues for promoting sustainable maritime innovation and leadership.
We sincerely thank Professor Manuel for the inspiring dialogue and look forward to developing future joint initiatives!
