Nordic-Baltic Maritime Forum 2026 Brings Maritime Leaders to Helsinki

#NBMF26 BALTIC-FIT

From 23 to 26 March 2026, the Nordic-Baltic Maritime Forum takes place in Helsinki, Finland, gathering maritime leaders, innovators, and policymakers from across the Nordic-Baltic Eight — Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, and Sweden.

The four-day programme combines site visits, networking, and thematic discussions focused on maritime decarbonisation, digitalisation, and the evolving role of ports in regional trade and energy transition.

As part of the forum, Prof. Ulla Tapaninen, BALTIC-FIT project coordinator and Full Professor of Maritime Transport at Tallinn University of Technology, moderates Session 4 – “Ports: Reframing Shipping and Trade Connections.”

The session addresses how ports are adapting to new environmental and operational demands, including energy storage, alternative fuels, shore power, and more efficient logistics solutions.

The forum provides a platform for dialogue between industry, policy, and research communities, highlighting practical approaches to strengthening sustainable maritime systems in the Nordic-Baltic region.
